How it works
A drill, a tent, a stand mixer — most things you buy are used a handful of times and forgotten. Lend what you have; borrow what you need.
Tutoring, handyman work, tech support, music lessons — the expertise you take for granted is exactly what someone nearby is looking for. Teach and earn.
The bookshelf gathering dust. The kids' clothes they've outgrown. Give things a second life with a neighbor who'll actually use them. Always free to claim.
Post what you're looking for and let neighbors come to you. Whether it's a specific tool, a skill, or something seasonal — someone nearby probably has it.
What Village is for
Life gets easier when neighbors are within reach. Village gives you a way to ask for help — and to be the neighbor who shows up when it matters.
The tools in your garage, the skills you use every day — your neighbors need them. Lend, teach, and help out. Earn credits. Spend them on what you need next.
The people who become closest often start as strangers. Village creates the conditions for those friendships — one exchange at a time, between people who already share the same streets.
How you get compensated
Every listing on Village falls into one of three exchange types. The service provider always chooses — Village never forces a neighbor into a payment method that doesn't work for them.
Credits
No cash between neighbors and no platform fee. Earn credits by helping out, and spend them on the help you need next.
Best for lending, skilled help, and time-based services.
Cash
Get paid in real dollars, straight to your account — for neighbors offering professional-grade services or who'd simply rather earn income than credits.
Best for professional services or real income.
Service Swap
No credits, no cash, no platform fee — just two neighbors trading help. You walk my dog this week; I'll fix your fence next.
Best for equal-value trades between neighbors.
More on credits
Lend your power washer, teach a skill, or help a neighbor move, and you earn credits to spend on whatever you need next — lend often enough and you can borrow indefinitely. New members start with a welcome bonus, so you can receive help before you've given any.

Real neighbors, real trust
Village has no feed to scroll, no engagement to optimize, and no attention to harvest. Every member verifies a home address before they can participate — so the person lending you a ladder actually lives a few streets over.
Every account belongs to a verified neighbor. No bots. Every person you interact with lives within a few miles of you — and has proven it.
We will never sell your information or share your address. Village earns by serving your community — not by monetizing your attention or your personal data.
Our obligation to community good is written into Village Life LLC's operating agreement — a contractual commitment, not just a pitch deck. Community comes first, always.

Village Youth · ages 13–17
For a teenager, Village offers a taste of independence — a chance to earn their own way, take on real responsibility, and build a reputation with their own two hands. It's how a kid grows into a capable, contributing member of the neighborhood.
And it all happens somewhere safe. Every teen account starts with a parent's approval. From there, the teen runs the show — and a guardian can see all of it: every job, message, and review. Every adult on the other side is a real, verified neighbor — a real name, a face photo, and a GPS check that they live right here in your community, never a stranger from the internet. Members go further still, with a verified government ID on file.
Every Village Youth builds a real reputation in their own neighborhood. The reviews they earn helping neighbors this year are ones they'll carry into every job interview, college application, and community relationship for years to come.
For organizations
Your HOA already does the work of community — events, beautification, volunteer coordination. Village gives community organizations something they've never had: a community incentive currency. Post a volunteer opportunity, set a credit reward, and let neighbors sign up. When the event's done, send credits to everyone who showed up. No more reply-all emails hoping for the best.
Credits stay in your neighborhood. When an HOA distributes credits to volunteers, those credits get spent with other neighbors — tutoring, lawn work, dog walking, borrowed tools. The investment stays local and comes back around.

Common questions
Yes. Creating an account, listing your things and skills, and participating in exchanges is free. Village earns from optional credit top-ups, an optional $4.99/month membership — which covers the cost of verifying members' identity — and a 12% fee on cash-paid services, out of which Village pays Stripe's card-processing fees. Never from ads or selling your data.
We verify your neighborhood using your exact address — but your street address is never shared with other members. Village does require your real name and a face photo — neighbors should know who they're exchanging with. Your bio and social links are optional. Membership is optional too: our $4.99/month tier also gets their government ID verified, included in the membership.
Credits are Village's community currency: you earn them by helping neighbors and spend them on help you need, so generosity comes back around. You never have to buy them — lend the things you already own and you can keep borrowing indefinitely. Cash and skill-swaps work too; credits are just the option that keeps exchanges feeling like favors rather than transactions.
Every exchange goes through Village, so there's a clear record. Either party can report an issue, and credits are set aside until both sides confirm completion. We encourage members to work things out between themselves first — a quick, honest conversation resolves most misunderstandings. Be a good neighbor.

Your neighbors are already here — with skills to share, things to lend, and a genuine desire to be part of something. All they need is a way to find each other.
